Where should a dryer vent be located?
The most common place to vent your dryer is horizontally through the exterior wall near the dryer, which is the ideal placement. Other common locations are through (but not into) the basement or the attic/roof. For most dryer models, you can’t run the exhaust duct more than 25 feet from the dryer to the exhaust port.
Can you vent a LG dryer from the side?
Your new dryer is shifted to vent to the rear. Please note that it can also be configured to vented side on some models. An adapter kit is available for purchase from your LG retailer.
Where is my dryer exhaust vent?
In back of most dryer units is a short 4-inch diameter exhaust. This exhaust connects to dedicated ductwork inside the wall through an aluminum elbow or other pipe. Hot air travels along these metal pipes to eventually emerge through an opening on an outside wall of your house.
