How do you mount a shock hoop?
With the truck unloaded and on level ground, position our shock hoop on the frame near the top of the inner wheel well. The shock mount of the hoop should be directly over the shock mount of the axle. Tack-weld the shock hoop into position. Test fit your shock and measure it’s visible shaft length.
Can you replace a shock tower?
Shock tower replacement is best performed with the engine removed for ease of access. If you are going to replace one shock tower, you might as well replace both because if one is cracked, the other will likely crack in time.

Shock towers are well-known vehicular body parts. Generally, a shock tower is secured to body components framing an engine compartment and provides an attachment point for an upper end of a suspension damper, such as a strut or shock absorber.
